I appreciate it if you correct my English :)

("-chan," which you often see in my diary, is something used when we call or mention someone who is very young. It's also used when you call girls' names in Japan, as in "Hanako-chan," "Fumie-chan."
This "-chan" plays an important role in Japanese in that it gives you a vivid image of a little kid instantly in your mind. I may not use "-chan" when I write something in English, but it has become part of my daughters' names when I call their names, so I cannot help but use it :) )

Her Tactics
Haru-chan has been trying to massage my shoulders lately.
"Daddy, would you like a massage after your bath?"
"Oh, that helps. You often massage me these days, don't you?"
"Do I?"
"Yep. Is it, well, because your birthday is just around the corner?"
"Gosh! You knew it!"

Trip to Okinawa
My fellow teachers and I went on a short trip to Okinawa last weekend. We enjoyed most of the famous tourist resorts there, including Shuri Castle, Churaumi Aquarium and International Street. We had a great time in all the places.
When I came back home, my three children welcomed me.
Well, two, to be exact.
Tomo-chan "Welcome home, Daddy! How was Okinawa?"
Yuta "Welcome back, Daddy!"
Haru-chan "Where are gifts?"

Description
After a short trip in Okinawa, where I enjoyed feasting non-stop, I gained a little weight. My daughter Haru-chan started to describe what my belly looked like after taking a bath together.
"Mommy, dad's belly is bigger than ever. He ate a lot in Okinawa, right?"
"Uh-huh. Did you touch it? How did it feel?"
"It felt like, when you put jelly in the fridge, leave it for 15 minutes, no, 20 minutes, and you touch it. Yeah, that kind of feel."

Boasting
The other day my family and I went iceskating.
Having already skated on roller skates at home, Tomoka is very good at skating. I raced against her, and no matter how fast I skated, she caught up. Haruka was skating for only the second time and was skating slowly.
Yuta skated for the very first time, and he held onto my arm in the beginning. In an hour or so, however, he started skating all by himself although he looked like a penguin's toddling along.
When Yuta and I were taking a short break on a bench, Tomoka came up and asked how Yuta was doing. I told her that he was a quick learner and had already started to skate all by himself.
Yuta then grinned and said to her, "Go tell Mommy and Haruka that I am skating all by myself."

Okay?
My wife got a Google Speaker the other day. When you say, "Okay Google, play some Disney song" for example, the speaker finds some disney songs from You Tube and plays them.
Haru-chan and I were driving to the nearby supermarket today. She said to me, "Okay, Dad. Play me Da Pump's USA."
